Teaching and Learning
The craft of teaching and learning is complex and challenging. While the SCC Center for Teaching and Learning provides a number of resources through our programs, workshops, and website, there is no substitute for a personal consultation with one of our staff members. In order to support SCC faculty as they navigate the demanding work of helping SCC students learn, grow, and achieve, we are available to consult with faculty on a wide range of teaching and learning topics:
- Are you exploring adding new assignments or testing options for your course?
- Would you like to discover ways to engage students in an online course?
- Are you looking for ways to make your classes more equitable and inclusive?
- Would you like to receive some feedback about your syllabus?
- Do you want to find new ways to assess your students’ learning?
- Are you designing or redesigning a course from the ground up?
- Are you struggling with accessibility issues?
Our focused consultations, provided on an individual or group basis, can provide personalized feedback based on your goals. They can range from simply being an opportunity to share your ideas to a full-fledged collaborative problem-solving session. We are also available to attend department meetings.
