2025-2026 Faculty Senate
Purpose
The purpose of the Faculty Senate is to:
- Facilitate communication among faculty.
- Serve as the executive-representative body of SCC faculty in dealings with the college administration, district administration, and governing board.
- To select representatives to serve on administrative councils and on coordinating committees of the faculties of the colleges of the district, and
- To participate in the formation and implementation of policies for the local college and district.

Senate Representatives
Departments shall be provided Senate representation on the following basis:
- Departments with 1-10 Residential Faculty members are delegated 1 Senate representative
- Departments with 10 or more Residential Faculty members are delegated 2 Senate representatives
- Three (3) Residential Faculty members will be elected to serve as At-Large Senators by a majority vote of the Residential Faculty of the college.
Faculty members in the following roles or positions will serve as members of the Faculty Senate without voting privileges:
- Chair-of-Chairs
- Chair-of-OPDs
- Elected Adjunct Faculty representatives

Meetings
The Senate meets at 3:00 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month during the academic year.
